NDS PC Show™ is an end-to-end solution that enables
pay-TV and telecom operators to offer video entertainment
services on PCs. It helps bring the PC into the converged
environment and is fully integrated into the home network. The result
is complete flexibility for content discovery and consumption.
With PC Show, operators can expand
their business by securely extending services beyond
the TV to the end user’s PC, while employing
flexible business models. PC Show enhances cross-selling opportunities
and sets the stage for future applications—such as
advertising solutions and home networking—that will generate revenue and reduce churn.
Designed to maximise subscriber choice and flexibility, PC Show has
two versions:
- PC Show™ Broadband Edition—Delivers
VOD and live and linear TV over the open Internet. Powered by NDS multi-platform VideoGuard® DRM
to protect service and content, this robust software-only solution allows subscribers
to watch content anywhere, using the operator’s branded Web portal. Additionally, adaptive streaming and progressive download technologies integrated in PC Show provide the best viewing experience possible for unmanaged networks.
- PC Show™ Home Networking Edition—Extends the Broadband Edition to allow full home networking capabilities
between STBs (zappers or DVRs), PCs and other connected devices.
PC Show can leverage the NDS Unified Headend and be delivered as an end-to-end offering including Web-portal, CDN and CMS. NDS can also act as the system integrator for the entire solution. Alternatively, PC Show can be provided in SDK format allowing service providers to create their own customised PC application based on NDS DRM technology, and integrate it with third party systems. Subsequently, customers can leverage the DRM infrastructure to launch additional services on other devices (such as mobiles and tablets).
